  • Pre-Nationals Head-to-Heads

Thought I'd expand on my list of Regionals/ORCS records with a list of all the matchups between Nationals-bound teams in that same period. Winners (win/tie, win/win) are marked in green, losers (lose/tie, lose/lose) in red, and teams that split are in orange. For simplicity's sake, the team with the highest PD in a split round was listed (as opposed to listing them both), but judges' scores are highly subjective so take that as you will.

Enjoy, and feel free to analyze all you like.

    UNAPPRECIATIVE YELLING.

With that out of the way...

Thanks for taking the time to do put this together. There's a lot of interesting stuff here. Especially interesting: Georgia's ballots from Duke and Furman, New Mexico's from UCLA and UC Irvine, and Pomona's ties with UC Irvine.

I agree (also Maryland having faced 3 different nationals-bound teams, against two of which (GW, UVA) their defense lost the first ballot by 6 and won the second by 1. This also happened in the same ORCS, in successive rounds.)

And no problem on putting this together, I just want to add to the hype for this season's national championship. Other reasons for hype: 30th anniversary of AMTA National Championship, the tournament being held in Orange County Courthouse (where Casey Anthony was tried), the championship round being held in Courtroom 23 (the courtroom where the trial took place), and how the championship will be live-streamed for all to see.

Also, putting stats like these out there makes it easier for people to analyze what's going on, and have clear facts to back up their arguments. Now if only we had access to individual scores...

Georgia and UNM really stand out to me. Interesting stuff.
